The Review Management tool lets you monitor and take control of the reputation of your business. With the tool, you can centralize monitoring of your company mentions on dozens of review websites, keep an eye on your review progress, respond to reviews with the help of AI, and get in-depth competitor review analytics. The teamwork capabilities make it easy to assign specific roles to different users, simplifying the process of managing your business’s reputation.
Review Monitoring
You can monitor mentions of your business and read reviews right from the tool. You’ll see all available reviews on the connected review sites, starting from the most recent. To reply to the review or just learn more, click the “Open review” button and the system will take you right to the directory where the review is located. Please make sure you connect your Google Business Profile to Semrush, to be able to reply to your GPB reviews directly.
Please note that the GBP Reviews update frequency in the Review Management dashboard depends on your Semrush Local subscription: every 6 hours for Essentials and every hour for Advanced plans. If you're using an older plan, such as Semrush Local Basic or Premium, your GBP Reviews data updates every 24 hours and 6 hours, respectively.
To focus on more positive or more negative reviews, choose the corresponding status at the top of the Reviews table.
AI-powered replies and automation
Replying to reviews is an important ranking factor, as Google gives higher priority to businesses that take the time to do this. It shows that the business values customer feedback and is actively working to improve its services. With Semrush Local’s Review Management, you can leverage AI-generated responses for unanswered reviews, which can provide inspiration when you're unsure how to respond. The tool analyzes the reviews and generates suitable replies to save you time and effort.
In the Review Management section, automatic suggestions are provided for the first five reviews without responses. You can also manually initiate suggestions for specific reviews by using the "Generate draft" button next to the unanswered review.
Please note that AI generates replies in the main official language of your location. For example, if your location is in New York, AI will generate replies in English. If your location is in Mexico City, it will be in Spanish.
To save time, you can also automate the entire process with AI auto-replies, powered by ChatGPT. You can enable auto-replies for all your locations and select if you want to auto-reply to positive reviews, negative reviews, or both. AI will answer reviews once a day.
Please note that you can also review and edit replies after they are published.
Email Alerts
Email alerts allow you to stay on top of any negative reviews. Semrush Local will send an email once a day with any negative reviews from the preceding day and a CTA to reply to the review. If there are no negative reviews, you won't receive an email.
A negative review is one rated no higher than 3 stars. This email goes out to users with any Semrush Local subscription.

Review Analytics
Additionally, you will gain access to Review Analytics. This feature allows you to compile reports about competitors’ reviews and get analytics about their review profiles. To learn more about this feature, please visit our Guide to Semrush Local Review Analytics article.
Share location
To share a location in the Review Management tool, start by navigating to Review Management and selecting the “Share location” button. This will open the Share Locations window, where you can enter the email addresses of the individuals you want to share your selected locations with. In this window, you’ll also find a drop-down menu on the right, which allows you to assign a role to the users you’re sharing with: Editor or Viewer.
The role chosen in the drop-down applies to all email addresses entered. To assign different roles to specific users, you’ll need to repeat this process, sharing the location separately for each desired role.
Please note that when you share a location in Review Management, you also grant viewing or editing permissions to your listing.
