How is Topical Authority calculated?

Topical Authority indicates the relevance of your domain to the topic of the selected seed keyword.

Topical Authority is calculated using a proprietary AI algorithm we've developed. This algorithm compares the thematics of the specified domain and keyword.

An example of the Topical Authority score.

The score shows how well your domain content matches the analyzed keyword. A higher score means your site has a better chance of reaching the top 10 Google results.

Topical Authority is divided into four scores:

  • Low: The keyword is irrelevant for the chosen domain.
  • Moderate: The domain is somewhat related to the researched topic, but either there is little content on it, or it does not directly thematically correlate.
  • Relevant: This is considered a good result, but a little more optimization is needed. This applies when the keyword is very close to your website’s topic. For example, if your website is about bespoke shirts, the keyword would be “wedding bespoke shirt.”
  • High: It's an excellent example of alignment between the domain content relevancy to a seed keyword. This usually applies to your brand keywords or when the analyzed keyword is 100% relevant to your website’s topic. For example, if your website is about selling bespoke shirts, the keyword would be “bespoke shirt.”
